TRAVEL TIPS | AUSTRALIAN FAVOURITES

I've been daydreaming about Australia a lot recently. I miss it so much and my heart is still outback bound. I thought I'd show you the places I have had the most happiest memories. Not only are these places beautiful but I also discovered them with amazing people, which helps. I could write a list of places you just HAVE to see when you go to Australia but, of course, everyone's opinion is different. But I would recommend going here and making them your own happy places.

Broome, WA - it's no secret that I am obsessed with sunsets, but this Broome sunset is extra special to me. Not only is it beautiful but, whilst watching the sky change colour, this was the moment I knew I had to travel the world. I remember thinking that I wanted to see the sun set in as many different countries as possible to see if they're as beautiful as this.

Coral Bay, WA - I have seen a lot of beaches in Australia but this was the first one to amaze me. Coral Bay is the smallest town next to the most beautiful beach. It has one small road with a hotel, pub and hostel and that's pretty much it. I spent my days here snorkelling to the reef from the beach and sunbathing on the perfectly white sand. The Ningaloo Reef is just as outstanding as the Great Barrier Reef but unknown as it's smaller. If anything, I preferred the Ningaloo Reef.

Coober Pedy, SA - I spent 7 months living in the outback and it will always have a special place in my heart. This is one of the weirdest places I have had the pleasure of seeing and I miss it so much. I lived underground, sold opals and got to see some beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

Streaky Bay, SA - I spent a long weekend here with some lovely new friends. It was a weekend of firsts, many highs and happy memories. Streaky Bay is a small town, but it's surrounded by lots of beaches and sand dunes. When I think of Streaky Bay, I will always think of the shabby beach hut and dancing in to the night.

Rainbow Beach, QLD - this was one of my first drunken nights in Australia as a backpacker. I had lots of beer, a walk on the beach at sunset and I caught my returning boomerang. The sand is full of colour and there is a beautiful Dreamtime Story to go with the town.

Where's your favourite places in Australia?

THIS ROAD LEADS WHERE YOUR HEART IS

Listening to: Red Lights by Tiesto

Wearing: Boots - River Island . Tights - Primark . Dress - Topshop . Jacket - Zara . Hat - Asos

Every now and then, it's good to treat yourself. I bought this gingham smock dress the other day and I absolutely love it. Although the fit isn't most flattering, I love the lazy look and feel of this dress.

At the minute, I'm only buying clothes that can be worn all year round. I think this will look great as the weather heats up, teamed with bare legs and gladiator sandels.

Beware: with this baggy dress and the windy weather, be prepared to flash the occasional stranger.

I'LL WALK THE STREETS OF LONDON, WHICH ONCE SEEMED ALL OUR OWN

Listening to: Sheila by Jamie T

Today is the day of love. I fall in love with places more then people, so it's no surprise that I'm single on Valentine's Day. I may be flying solo, but my day will be no less filled with love then any one else's.

I have been to many cities around the world but London, for me, is like no other. I love London with all my heart and I can't wait for the day that I move to my favourite city in the world. For now, I'm limited to day trips here and there and I have written a list of 5 things I want to do in London before the end of the year.
  1. Ice Bar - I have wanted to go to the Ice Bar for as long as I can remember, but have never got round to it. This year, I will hopefully be celebrating my 24th birthday here and I can't wait.
  2. Brick Lane - I am forever on Brick Lane eating in Indian restaurants. Curry is my favourite food, so it's the best place for me. This year, I want to make the time to go shopping on Brick Lane. I have been once, a good few years ago now, and absolutely loved it. I hope to go back and buy lots of vintage and second hand pieces for my wardrobe.
  3. Buckingham Palace - I think the royal family are awesome and, since London 2012, my love has just continued to grow for them. As I love the Queen so much, it only seems right that I have a nose around her house.
  4. Theatre - I am a huge fan of musicals and I have seen most of the shows in the West End. My favourites are The Lion King, We Will Rock You and The Woman in Black, although they're all too different to compare. A night spent at the theatre is my kind of evening.
  5. Weekender - I love going out for a good meal and a few pints in London, but my nights are usually caught short with me rushing to get the last train back to Essex. I want to stay in London for a weekend so I can enjoy a good night out or two.

BABY, THIS IS WHAT THE NIGHT IS FOR

As I'm single, I decided to buy myself a Valentine's Day present because, well, I love me. I decided to buy myself my first matching underwear set. Personally, I think nude underwear isn't the prettiest and white underwear is too bright under light clothes, so I went for light pink. The Ted Baker selection at Debenhams is beautiful. It's full of floral lace, bows and pretty gold charms. The Ted Baker range starts from a 32A and goes up to 38DD and this same set also comes in cream and black. I'm sure I'll be investing in many more matching sets in the future and not just for Valentine's Day. I'll be sure to wear this pretty pink set tomorrow.

TRAVEL TIPS | THINGS I HATE ABOUT BACKPACKING

Wearing: Sunglasses - Ray Ban . Top - Supre . Bag - Zara

I love travelling. There I said it. But just like anything, there are parts of backpacking which I really don't like. Maybe even hate, and here they are.
  1. Hostels - thankfully, I didn't spent a lot of time in hostels whilst travelling. Now don't get me wrong, hostels can be great. They're a brilliant way to meet new people, they're cheap and they can help you plan your trip. But there is always someone who turns the light on in the middle of the night, someone who has to be up early and someone who comes back blind drunk. When you're travelling for a long time, sometimes you just want a good nights sleep and a dorm room isn't always the way to go. I wrote a post here with tips which may make your stay in hostels more comfortable.
  2. Same Old Story - you meet new people every day and you will always be asked the same 5 questions: "Where are you from? Where are you going? Where have you been? How long are you travelling for? How long are you here?" After a little while, it can get a bit tiring so try and mix it up a bit.
  3. Party Party Party - when you're travelling, there's always a reason to go out. It'll be someone's first or last night somewhere, someone going home or it's ladies night. At the beginning it's great fun, but after a little while your liver will start to hate you and you'll feel rough. Remember, there's plenty more things to do then sitting in bars.
  4. The 5 Minute Friend - when you meet someone new, you don't know how long you'll be with them for. You could travel with them for weeks, spend a few days in the same place or have a quick 5 minute encounter. You meet some lovely people on the road and you can have the most amazing time with them, and maybe that's all it's meant to be. But it's a nice feeling to really get to know someone and spend more then 5 minutes with them.
  5. Goodbyes - each goodbye is different. Some you expect, some you say in the hope to see them again and some are terribly sad. I have said countless goodbyes in my life, all of which I have not enjoyed. These days it is much easier to stay in touch with people, with the odd tweet, facebook message or email, but eventually it'll slowly stop despite your best intentions. When you travel long enough, you have people you miss all over the world and it can feel like your heart is broken in to different pieces. You can have life changing moments with people and it's hard when you realise you may not see that person again. I hate saying goodbye.
Don't get me wrong, I'd put up with all these things if it meant I could be on the road again but, for now, I am enjoying being at home and not having to say goodbye.

LOOK UP IN THE SKY, IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE

Wearing: Shoes - Primark . Jeans - Topshop . Top - Topshop . Jacket - Zara . Necklace - The Bohemian Collective . Scarf - French Connection

I love this outfit. It's simple and comfy with a little bit of colour, which you don't come across much of these days in my wardrobe. I forever live in black, grey, khaki and burgandy but, in all honesty, I'm excited to add a bit of colour as the weather heats up.

Now to the pictures. I have decided that I will never be good at striking a pose and my dad (love him!!) will never be the best at taking photos, so fuck it. From now on, I hope you enjoy seeing pictures which look more like outtakes and have me giggling like a fool.

HAKUNA MATATA

Watching: The Lion King
Wearing: Boots - River Island . Jeans - Topshop . Jumper - Primark . Denim Jacket - Primark . Hat - H&M

As the sun was actually shining today, I thought I'd dig out my denim jacket, although I'm not entirely sure it was warm enough. I teamed it with my oversized cream jumper for some extra warmth, my new boots and my staple beanie.

I bought my new boots the other week and have been in love with them ever since. Even though they're quite high, the platform helps to keep my feet comfy. Finally, a pair of heels I can actually walk in.
